New York, NY (March 6, 2012) - Reflecting the city’s exponential growth in digital media, Internet Week NY announced preliminary participants in the fifth annual festival, and opened event registration to the city’s Internet community today. A wide range of companies including Yahoo!, VICE, The Creator’s Project, Design Within Reach, General Assembly, Time Inc., Refinery29, NBC 4 New York, Flavorpill, and the IAB, have already committed to participating in the expansive festival set for May 14-21st, 2012.

Living up to its reputation as the ultimate crowd-sourced festival, any organization – from artists and investment banks to startups and meet-ups – can host an event during Internet Week New York 2012. To register an event, visit

Presented by Yahoo! for the third year in a row, Internet Week New York 2012 will welcome its growing ranks of attendees at the festival’s new headquarters, the recently- renovated 82 Mercer, a 50,000 square foot, two-story landmark building in the city’s Soho neighborhood.

Marking its fifth year, Internet Week New York has quickly become one of the world’s top festivals celebrating digital culture, as well as a global showcase for New York City’s thriving technology industry. Internet Week New York 2012 is expected to bring more than 45,000 people from around the world to talks, exhibits, panels, and parties at the festival’s headquarters and dozens of locations throughout the city.

“Internet Week New York has become a must-attend event for anyone who wants to know what’s next in digital culture and commerce,” said David-Michel Davies, Chairman of Internet Week New York. "With New York City’s technology community growing at a rapid pace, our fifth annual festival promises to be our biggest and best yet.”

Other highlights of Internet Week New York 2012 range from conferences like IAB Innovation Days, Digiday, and Federated Media’s Conversational Marketing Summit to musical events presented by FlashFWD and Girls Who Rock, parties like The Webutante Ball and the Founderscard Signature Event, and celebrations like Time Inc’s 10 NYC Startups to Watch. A preliminary schedule of events will be announced in late March.

Early bird passes to Internet Week New York can be purchased for $30, with a $10 discount for those who tweet about it, at The full program of Internet Week New York headquarters will be announced in late March.

The festival is organized by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS), in cooperation with the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment.
