New York, NY (May 15, 2014) - Offering interactive crash courses on everything from launching a startup in New York City to the fundamentals of coding, bitcoin, infographics and data visualization, Internet Week New York today unveiled the lineup for its Classroom sessions, a series of tactical workshops, discussions and case studies led by industry experts from The Trade Desk, Aquent Gymnasium, CourseHorse, General Assembly, NYC Digital and other top organizations.

Taking place from May 19th to 25th, Internet Week New York 2014 is expected to draw more than 45,000 people to over 250 events taking place at the IWNY HQ at Chelsea’s Metropolitan Pavilion and at venues across the city, including The Webby Awards hosted by Patton Oswalt, The Webutante Ball, and the Official IWNY HQ Closing Party. A highlight of the Classroom sessions will be workshop on May 21st where New York City middle school students will teach a coding class to participants including the First Lady of New York City Chirlane McCray and Schools Chancellor Carmen Fariña.

    Advertising tech innovator The Trade Desk presents a four-day series investigating the intersection of advertising and data technology. Led by CEO Jeff Green, classroom sessions will explore the problem of data overload, the future of real-time bidding (RTB), and why the agency of tomorrow will not be a demand-side platform.

    This class will demystify the world of metrics, analytics and data, offering an overview on how to use strategic-level key performance metrics (KPI) to drive tactical decisions such as product design. Participants will learn how to derive specific design decisions from a range of sources, including Google Analytics, A/B testing, eyetracking data, social media and real-time stats. They will also learn how to avoid the common pitfall of information overload by streamlining analytics installation, tracking, monitoring and reporting processes.

    In the age of big data, visual communication can be the best way to convey information quickly and efficiently.
